Connect a lever and a door
Link two managed Actors through a WSRF Stable ID instead of a UObject reference, so the relationship survives destruction and respawn.
Use a WSRF Stable ID instead of storing the lever’s UObject reference as persistent world state.
Steps
- Add WSRF to both Actors and assign the same Region.
- Give each the behavior appropriate to the puzzle. Use Custom/Advanced setup if the standard presets do not match.
- On the door, implement WSRF Resettable and store
bOpenplus the lever’s Stable ID in Custom State. - In WSRF Prepare For Reset, stop both animations and reject new interaction.
- In WSRF Restore Custom State, restore
bOpen, call Find Loaded Actor with the saved ID, and handle a null result. - In WSRF Reset Completed, update visuals only after all state required by this Actor is available.
Resolution can fail — handle null
The related lever may be unloaded, may have failed to respawn, or may belong to another container. Never assume a completion callback guarantees a non-null result. Keep the Stable ID and resolve again when the relevant world content loads.
